Great customer service from the start. The representative that answered the telephone, to the technician that came out to service the home, along with the inspector, all extended such great customer service. Time is of value, and arriving not only on time, but even earlier if available, was amazing, and so much appreciated. Great job, you guys rock

I recently moved and took the ORKIN service with me. They were able to have a technician service my new property within the first 24 hours! They did not skip a beat. I highly recommend.

Our local Orkin team came by on time and addressed the issue with the yellow jackets in our yard. We also received information on mosquito repellent and even the insulation in our attic that can help with pests. Overall I’m happy with the thoroughness of both the pest controller and the rep who did a walkthrough after. The pricing was reasonable for the amount of information and service we were provided.

We had a little misunderstanding on setting up the appointment (at the corporate level not the store that deals with my area) but they immediately came out the following day . I was even able to set the time that fit my schedule. Blake did a fantastic job. He was courteous of my belongs and very mindful of my 3 kids and pets. He listened to my concerns and took into consideration my opinion of how the pest are moving on a day to day. We worked out a plan together based off the information i provided. He was very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make sure we get the situation under control as fast as possible and to keep unwanted pest out of the home.

The man that was dispatched from ORKIN to treat our home was very courteous and proffessional . We were informed by text that he was on his way and again when he arrived . He answered all my questions and politely put on shoe covers to walk through our home . Job well done

Joshua came out and inspected our home and attic since we’ve had a daytime bat issue. He was on time and very professional. I would highly recommend them for future services!

I got a text from Brian this morning and I was very confused but wrong number. Still had amazing service don't currently need these services but when I do or know someone that does I'll recommend them. Very friendly service!

DSSD G. via google

My husband and I appreciated the more humane approach to extermination and the time spent during the inspection to explain the treatment. I did have to call for extra treatment since our moles were still present after initial treatment but they did schedule and complete as promised. We’re in our 3 months of treatment with prevention and so far the problem is under control. All in all a reliable service with competitive pricing but everything paid upfront and no ongoing deductions to keep track.

A couple of squirrels gnawed their way into my attic. I contracted Critter Control and they responded quickly to set up service. The squirrels were humanely removed and all possible openings were sealed within a week. A short time later, my attic was fogged to take care of any potential critters that remained. A very thorough job with a warranty. Very pleased with the service.

Joanne T. via google

We noticed a squirrel entering one of our roof eves and because a family member had recommended critter control we called them right away. The sales person came out and gave us a bid, indicating the work would take two to three days and they could have a team out within a couple of days. The price seemed high, but given that I can’t climb a ladder because of my disability, two or three days work for a crew seemed acceptable. A team of two young men showed up when they had said and spent a little less than 3 hours installing wire mesh over all of our roof eve openings and placing a one way the two eves that appeared damaged from birds and the squirrels, although the technicians said they didn’t hear or see anything in the eve. We had paid for 1/2 the service up front and were billed the remainder. While I’m happy to pay a fair wage, especially for services that I can’t do anymore, the six hours of labor and less than $100 of materials, seemed far less than the price and time the sales person had estimated. I called and was told a manager would call me back. I’ve been waiting about two weeks for a call back, but have only received another bill payment request and this request for a review. There is no local number provided on the website and the people I originally spoke with from their main office were not able to address the situation. The work done appears to be fine, but it’s up at the eves, so I can’t really tell the quality, time will tell if the squirrels or birds try to return, but it looks pretty good for now… the cost seems exorbitant compared to the labor and materials though and the company seems too big to provide a response to my inquiry. I do hope we can come to an agreement on finalizing the bill. My attempt to reply by email to their billing request failed so now I’m hoping they reach back out to me.

Jordan has provided the most complete service since I’ve been a client. He even sprayed on my deck, which no one else has done. If these are new directions to the techs, hooray. If not, he did the best service. Thanks for putting him on my route.

I would like to thank Jeff for doing a great job today. In fact, I would like to request him in the future. Y’all were supposed to provide service a couple of weeks ago, and your guy showed up without the equipment to service the inside of my house. To be honest, I almost called you to cancel my service then. Instead I rescheduled. Today Jeff did exactly what I signed up for, but too often you don’t provide. He sprayed indoors and out, swept my eaves for spider webs and took care of a couple of wasp nests. He did a great job. Thank you very much.

Rick T.via Google

Very polite and wearing a mask (I appreciate that). Introduced himself and asked if any particular place was heavy with mosquitoes, I told him I work in my garage with the door open and he made sure to get that side of the house thoroughly.

Montana was pleasant and most helpful in taking care of the service requested. We are happy and pleased with great service and the professional assistance given. SHB

Pest Control Pricing Dynamics

Pest control services in Alton, Illinois often involve an initial assessment and treatment followed by regular maintenance visits. The initial visit is typically more extensive, addressing current infestations and laying the groundwork for prevention. This service may cost between $175 and $399. After the initial treatment, homeowners may opt for ongoing service plans that generally cost between $40 and $100 per month. These plans are designed to monitor and prevent pest activity, with professionals returning to the property at scheduled intervals to apply necessary treatments and adjustments.

Coverage: Pests Included and Excluded

Common Household Pests

Most service plans cover a broad spectrum of pests that are frequently found in homes, such as ants, cockroaches, spiders, and rodents. These are the culprits of the majority of infestations and, therefore, are the primary focus of general pest control efforts. In contrast, pests like termites, bed bugs, and certain types of wildlife are not typically included in standard plans due to the specialized treatment methods they require.

Understanding Contracts

Service Agreements

When committing to a pest control service, homeowners will likely enter into a service agreement. This contract outlines the terms of service, including the frequency of visits and the duration of the contract. Most companies offer the option to cancel the service without significant penalties, but it is essential to understand the terms before signing.

Satisfaction Guarantees

The Promise of Effective Treatment

To instill confidence in their services, many pest control companies offer guarantees. If pests return between scheduled visits, the company will often provide additional treatments at no extra cost. This ensures ongoing protection and peace of mind for homeowners, as they can trust that the pest control company stands behind the effectiveness of their services.

Treatment Expectations

What Happens During a Visit

During a scheduled pest control visit, technicians typically inspect the property for signs of pest activity, treat areas where pests are found, and take preventative measures to keep pests from returning. This may include sealing gaps, applying pesticides, and setting up traps or baits. The goal is to address both the immediate issue and to lay the groundwork for long-term prevention.

Bundle and Add-On Services

Enhancing Your Protection Plan

Many pest control companies offer additional services that can be bundled with general pest control for increased protection. These may include termite inspections, mosquito treatments, and tick control. Bundling these services can often result in cost savings and more comprehensive protection against a wider array of pests.

Addressing Specialty Pests

Handling Complex Infestations

For infestations of termites, bed bugs, and certain wildlife, specialized treatment plans are necessary. These pests require unique methods of eradication and prevention, which are typically offered as separate, targeted services by pest control companies.

Choosing Service Frequency

One-Time Versus Recurring Services

Homeowners can choose between one-time treatments for acute pest issues or ongoing service plans for continuous protection. While one-time treatments address current infestations, recurring services focus on prevention and are essential for maintaining a pest-free environment over the long term.

Weather & Pests in Alton

Is it normal to still see bugs after the initial spraying?

Expand

It is not uncommon to continue seeing bugs after the initial spraying. This can happen because some pests may not be immediately affected by the treatment or because new bugs may enter the area. Do I need to reapply exterminator chemicals if I see pests again?

Expand

If you see pests again after applying exterminator chemicals, it is advisable to reapply the treatment. Pests can be resilient, and a second application can help ensure effective elimination. Contact a local pest control professional in Alton, Illinois for expert guidance and assistance.

Will roaches avoid areas that have been recently mopped?

Expand

Roaches are resilient and adaptable creatures that can survive in various environments, including areas that have been recently mopped. While mopping can remove surface food sources and disrupt their scent trails, it may not deter them from seeking new sources of food and water. It is important to implement a comprehensive pest control strategy that includes regular cleaning, proper food storage, and targeted treatments to effectively manage roach infestations.

Does the cooperation of neighboring units or properties affect the time it takes to eliminate cockroaches?

Expand

The cooperation of neighboring units or properties can have an impact on the time it takes to eliminate cockroaches in Alton, Illinois. If all surrounding units or properties are treated simultaneously, it can help prevent reinfestation and speed up the eradication process.

Does spraying for bugs actually work?

Expand

Spraying for bugs can be an effective method of pest control in Alton, Illinois. It helps to eliminate and prevent infestations by targeting common pests found in the area. However, the success of spraying depends on various factors such as the severity of the infestation, the type of bugs, and the expertise of the pest control professional. It is recommended to consult with a local expert to determine the best approach for specific pest issues in Alton.

What are the top three pests homeowners need to be vigilant about?
