This is my second home using Western Exterminator. I've been a customer for over 20 years. My service is every other month on the exterior - front and back yard. I have had the interior done maybe 3 times! Occasionally I've had a little ant problem in the backyard but it's always due to the weather. They have always taken care of any issues, even if it's between my normal service! They've come out at no extra charge. Very reliable company, very good employees!

The same exterminator came by that I have worked with in the past. He was very nice. He checked an additional area in the house to make sore out wasn't new damage, it wasn't. He was very professional and pleasant.

We had a personable efficient tech today. But the previous 3 appts were cancelled causing us to question continuing with this company. We’ll see what happens with the next appt.

The tech took care of the problem caused by the main office in Atlanta not relaying crucial information to him (our dog throwing up after the borax based granular bait application even though we kept her away from the area). He even came up with a reason for the problem (grain based coating causing her problems due to a grain allergy she has.) He made sure we had his cell number so we could call him directly with problems. I am happy with the local Orkin office and would not hesitate to give them 5's. But the main office is frustrating to deal with and I can't give them 5's for that reason.

I would have recommended him for the service type that we had before but he apparently has left and decided to become and fire-fighter and the guy we currently have now claims 11 years of service, I don't find him as reliable, as communicative and they're not coming when they're suppose to be coming right now, in that, they're suppose to come late in the day so that we can let them in the house and treat the interior. It's now been a couple of months since he has come at a time when we could let him in and treat the interior, so not as happy with my service as I was used to. They've done a good job. They do come out reliably, they are responsive for a callback. So, if you really want them back, you can call them, they will come back at a time and work, so. The pricing is moderately expensive. I talk with the guy, he is a little bit talky. The first thing he did was remind me that they had 11 years of experience and then after that it was kind of like, well, you know, the other guy came out at 4:30 when we could let him in the house, when somebody might be home and he's called twice now, that's the night before, and said he's going to be out at 10 AM, nobody is going to be home to let him in the house, so the callbacks are going to be a problem. I really liked the other guy. And I have not had the chance to sit down with the new guy and there are a lots of crawlspaces in the house but I don't think some of them he even knows about.

The regular technician is very prompt and thorough. He has no problem answering my questions. Since having the regular service I have had almost no problem with ants and very little problem with spiders. The insulation in my attic was blown in and gives me an R90 (so I have told). I would recommend this comany to anyone else.

They have been wonderful. They always come when they say they will come and they always do what they say they will do. The guy that helps me is named Constantine. He is wonderful.

They are pretty good. They are not cheap or anything but overall, they are one of the best here. We had termites all over the house and they did quite a nice job. We don't have any more trouble with termites. They are the only ones we have used and I have never had any termite problems after they treat it. You get what you pay for.

Thanks to Terminix my carpenter ant problem that happens every year has gone away. I don’t have to worry about spiders either and they even helped me figure out how I can get rid of my bats. I appreciate the way I have been treated by the man who does the service and I no longer have to try to find or store chemicals that will do the job. I also like getting a text with the service provider’s phone and ETA.

Understanding Pest Control Costs in Forest Grove, Oregon

Homeowners in Forest Grove, Oregon, looking for pest control services are often concerned about costs as much as quality. The expenses for a general pest control service may vary based on several factors like the home's size, infestation severity, and the chosen company's treatment methods. Generally, homeowners should anticipate an initial fee which could range from around $175 to $350, followed by monthly charges that might fall between $40 to $100. It's important to remember that these figures are averages and the actual costs could be higher or lower depending on specific circumstances. For substantial issues, such as widespread infestations, the financial commitment could be on the higher end of the spectrum.

Covering Your Bases: Pests Included and Exclusions

When signing up for pest control services, understanding which critters are included and which are not is vital. Generally, services offer protection against common household nuisances such as ants, spiders, roaches, and rodents. However, most plans exclude more challenging pests like termites, bed bugs, and certain wildlife, which often require specialized treatment methods. Additionally, while some pests like mosquitoes might be included in premium plans, they are typically considered add-ons in basic packages.

Locking It In: Understanding Contracts

Many pest control services require a service agreement, commonly lasting a year. Some contracts may allow for cancellation at any time, while others might come with early termination fees. It's important for homeowners to read the fine print and understand the terms, ensuring they're not locked into a long-term agreement without flexibility should their needs change.

Assurance of Service: Guarantees Offered

Reputable pest control companies often back their services with a satisfaction guarantee. This means if pests return between scheduled treatments, the company will provide additional service at no extra cost. These guarantees provide peace of mind, as they suggest a commitment to effective pest management and customer satisfaction.

Treatment Day: What to Expect

During a treatment visit, technicians usually perform an inspection, followed by treatment of identified problem areas. This might include sealing gaps, applying pesticides, and setting traps. Homeowners should prepare by clearing clutter and ensuring easy access to potential trouble spots. It's also common practice for the technician to provide detailed reporting and recommendations for ongoing pest prevention.

Better Together: Bundling and Add-On Services

To maximize value, some pest control companies offer bundled services combining general pest management with more specialized treatments like termite control or mosquito abatement. These bundled options can lead to savings and more comprehensive protection. Add-on services are usually available for those who need coverage beyond the scope of their main plan, but these will increase the overall cost.

Addressing Specialty Threats: Treatment for Specific Pests

While general pest control services tackle the usual suspects, they may not cover all types of pests. For those dealing with termites, bed bugs, or wildlife, specialized treatment plans that focus on these specific pests are necessary. These services often come with a separate cost and require different expertise and treatment approaches.

Choosing Your Battle: One-Time Versus Recurring Service

One-time treatments are available for those facing a singular pest problem, but may not guarantee long-term prevention. Recurring services, on the other hand, offer ongoing protection with regular treatments throughout the year. While they require a commitment, they are generally more effective in keeping a property pest-free over time.
