Our company uses Ehrlich for building pest control. They arrive once a month for review of the building and apply whatever is necessary to keep it pest free. We rarely see bugs and rodents have never been a problem since we began their service. They are professional and address any and all complaints that we express upon their arrival. We are completely satisfied and have no intentions of moving our service at this time.

I have used Ehrlich for years on contracts for a variety of critter and bug issues and have been reasonably happy. But...... they changed their system or something recently and randomly changed my quarterly appointment without notification. I noticed the discrepancy the week prior when a reminder email showed up. I called and asked why my 7am first call on a Thursday had been moved to Wednesday sometime between 9-5 without notice and I was told my tech had a busy day on Thursday with a big termite job. I told them this is bad practice and we rescheduled to a convenient time. Now here is the kicker. The day of the appointment a brand new tech shows up. I thought perhaps my regular tech was sick or out but no - Ehrlich had reassigned the territory and he is my new permanent tech. Talk about bad bad bad communication. I generally like the techs and this new one seems fine but honestly why didn't you communicate your change in process? Either by email or certainly when I called. The rep actually lied to me when I called and questioned the random change to my appointment. Or he had no idea about the reorg either. This is when companies lose customers.

Ron is great!! He always checks with me to verify whether I want the inside done or not because I'm disabled and sometimes I just don't want to be disturbed. He's very kind, very thorough and makes sure he gets the job done

I’ve used Orkin now for two years and their service is exceptional. They always inform when they’re scheduled and if they have to reschedule. That’s important to us cause we have kitties to put back in during a treatment. Go with the best, Orkin.

Since using orkin, I’ve stopped pulling ticks off my dogs daily! Our Service is automatic so I don’t have to call and make an appt which is great because I’d definitely forget. Our rep, Bob, is the best! He always on time, responsive, lets me know when he’s on the way & reminds me to take my dogs out before he gets there. We will always use Orkin!

Mia D. C. via google

The technician Ron is very respectful & knowledgeable about Orkin's products & services. We get a general spraying every 3 months & are very happy with the results. It controls the insects, bugs, etc. So far very good.

Came on time for appointment. Walk through of the house was thorough and efficient. Helped explain sources of where ants could be entering and gave directions/suggestions on next steps to ensure pest don't enter (trimming tree + exposed area in garage). Walked all throughout the property and attended to lawn. Overall very satisfied.

Understanding Pest Control Costs and Services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

For Pittsburgh homeowners, keeping homes pest-free is as vital as any other home maintenance routine. Pest control services in the area typically offer a range of plans suited to combat the common pests found in Pennsylvania. Generally speaking, service pricing varies based on several aspects such as property size, pest infestation level, and specific treatment methods deployed. Monthly fees for general pest prevention plans could range from $40 to $100, with the initial service fees varying from $175 to $350. These figures are shaped by the home's dimensions and the complexity of the pest issue at hand.

Pests Included and Exclusions

Most pest control plans in Pittsburgh cover a wide array of pests that pose as nuisances to homeowners. You can expect protection against ants, spiders, mice, and cockroaches, among others. However, be aware that more challenging pests like termites, bed bugs, and certain types of wildlife typically require specialized treatment plans which are not included in standard packages.

Agreement Terms

Signing up for a pest control plan often involves entering into a service agreement. Many companies offer the flexibility to cancel services at any time without harsh penalties, although some may require a contractual commitment for a year or more. It's important to understand the terms to avoid unexpected obligations.

Service Guarantees

To provide peace of mind, pest control services often come with guarantees. If pests return between scheduled treatments, most companies in Pittsburgh will offer additional service visits at no extra charge to address the problem, ensuring your home stays pest-free.

Service Procedure

During a treatment, technicians typically conduct a thorough inspection of the home, identify problem areas, and apply treatments to targeted spots. They might also suggest preventive measures like sealing cracks and gaps to deter pests from re-entering.

Bundling Options and Additional Services

Homeowners can often save money by bundling pest control with other services like termite or mosquito treatments. Add-on options are available, but these will increase the overall cost of the service plan.

Specialty Pest Treatment

While general pest control services cover a broad spectrum, certain pests require specialized treatment. Services for termites, bed bugs, and extensive rodent or wildlife infestations are usually separate from standard plans, with specific strategies tailored to address these more severe pest challenges.

Choosing Between Single and Recurrent Services

Single treatments are available for immediate pest issues, but for long-term prevention, recurring service plans are advisable. These plans often include regular inspections and treatments spaced out over the year to maintain a pest-free environment consistently.
