We were given two time options for our annual termite inspection. We chose 10-12. At 12, no one had shown up or called. When I called Orkin, they said it had been switched to 12-2. No one told us they switched it. 12-2 comes and goes; no Orkin. I call again, and after multiple attempts, they get the local office, who say that the tech is on the way. I wait another hour; no Orkin. I call the next day. The person on the phone can’t get the, local office because everything goes to voicemail. He says he will bump it up to the regional office, but it may take 48 hours to get a response. Oh, and on the day of the appointment, I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was assured that one would call. You guessed it; no one ever called. Postscript: Resolved to my satisfaction. Local service manager addressed all issues professionally and throughly.

Jordan has provided the most complete service since I’ve been a client. He even sprayed on my deck, which no one else has done. If these are new directions to the techs, hooray. If not, he did the best service. Thanks for putting him on my route.

Sue B.via Google

I would like to thank Jeff for doing a great job today. In fact, I would like to request him in the future. Y’all were supposed to provide service a couple of weeks ago, and your guy showed up without the equipment to service the inside of my house. To be honest, I almost called you to cancel my service then. Instead I rescheduled. Today Jeff did exactly what I signed up for, but too often you don’t provide. He sprayed indoors and out, swept my eaves for spider webs and took care of a couple of wasp nests. He did a great job. Thank you very much.

Rick T.via Google

Very polite and wearing a mask (I appreciate that). Introduced himself and asked if any particular place was heavy with mosquitoes, I told him I work in my garage with the door open and he made sure to get that side of the house thoroughly.

Montana was pleasant and most helpful in taking care of the service requested. We are happy and pleased with great service and the professional assistance given. SHB

Pest Coverage and Exclusions

Most pest control plans in Salisbury include a wide array of pests, such as ants, spiders, roaches, and rodents. However, some pests like termites, bed bugs, and certain wildlife may not be covered in standard plans and may require specialized treatments. It's important to understand which pests are included to ensure that your specific concerns will be addressed.

Understanding Contracts

When selecting a pest control service, homeowners will find that contracts can vary significantly. Some companies require yearly contracts, while others offer more flexibility with month-to-month options. It is essential to review the terms carefully to understand your commitments and any potential penalties for early cancellation.

Service Guarantees

A key component when choosing a pest control provider is the guarantee offered. Many companies provide a satisfaction guarantee, promising additional treatments at no cost if pests return between scheduled visits. This assurance can provide peace of mind and an indication of the provider's confidence in their services.

Treatment Expectations

During a pest treatment, technicians typically perform an inspection, apply treatments to target areas, and provide preventative measures against future infestations. It's important for homeowners to prepare for these visits by following any pre-treatment instructions provided by the company.

Bundling Services and Additional Offers

Many pest control companies offer bundled services, allowing customers to combine treatments for different pests, often resulting in cost savings. Add-on services for pests not covered in standard plans, such as mosquito treatments, can also be included for an additional fee.

Specialty Pest Treatments

For more challenging infestations such as termites, bed bugs, or wildlife, specialized pest control treatments are necessary. These require different expertise and methods compared to general pest control and are typically priced separately.

Choosing Between One-Time and Recurring Services

Homeowners must decide between one-time treatments, which address immediate issues, and recurring services, which provide ongoing prevention and control. While one-time treatments can be less expensive upfront, recurring services offer long-term protection, potentially saving money and hassle over time.

Weather & Pests in Salisbury

Are there any signs that the pest control treatment is working against the bugs?

Expand

Signs that the pest control treatment is working against bugs in Salisbury, North Carolina, may include a decrease in bug activity, such as fewer sightings or reduced bites. Additionally, you may notice fewer pest droppings or discarded exoskeletons. The absence of damage to property caused by bugs is another positive indicator that the treatment is effective.

Does the smell of onions repel mice?

Expand

Onions do not possess any proven repellent properties against mice. While some people believe that the smell of onions may repel mice, there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. Therefore, it is not recommended to solely rely on onions as a method of mouse control in Salisbury, North Carolina. It is advisable to consult a local pest control expert for effective and proven solutions.

How can I ensure long-term roach control?

Expand

To ensure long-term roach control in Salisbury, North Carolina, homeowners should employ a comprehensive approach. Start by keeping the house clean, sealing all entry points, and removing any food sources. Use roach baits and traps, along with insecticidal sprays or dusts targeted at roaches. Regularly monitor and maintain these control measures to prevent reinfestations.

Will the fumigation affect the temperature inside the refrigerator?

Expand

Fumigation typically does not directly affect the temperature inside a refrigerator. However, it is recommended to turn off the refrigerator during fumigation to prevent any potential contamination of food items. Once the fumigation process is complete and the area is deemed safe, the refrigerator can be turned back on and used as usual.

Do I need to leave the house while spraying for bugs inside?

Expand

When spraying for bugs inside your Salisbury, North Carolina home, it is advisable to leave the house temporarily. This allows the pesticides to settle and reduces the risk of exposure to harmful chemicals. It is recommended to follow the instructions provided by the pest control professional to ensure the safety of you and your family.

How important is proper sanitation in deterring mice?

Expand

Proper sanitation is crucial in deterring mice in Salisbury, North Carolina. By maintaining cleanliness and eliminating potential food sources, homeowners can reduce the likelihood of attracting mice to their properties. Regularly cleaning and storing food properly, sealing entry points, and keeping indoor and outdoor areas tidy can significantly help in preventing mouse infestations.
