Dawn’s visit today wasn’t a typical one, as she spotted a snake near my basement sump pump. Luckily, the snake’s head was inside of an insect trap that Dawn replaces near the sump on her visits. I happened to be in the basement arranging a few things, when Dawn asked for some plastic trash bags. I went to the back area where she was & saw a huge black snake that was at least 4ft. long & 3 in. wide. I ran to get the trash bags, a broom & dust pan. Upon returning, Dawn began dropping her large sticky pads on him, placed the bags on the floor, and pushed him into the 1st bag, then the 2nd bag, as the snake began moving. Dawn took the final black bag, dropped him in & tied it. She then placed large sticky pads around the sump pump in case a snake were to come out of the top again. She also placed stickies in other areas in the back of the basement for peace of mind. I don’t believe other techs would have done what Dawn did that day. She was truly fearless and as calm as she could be in such a scary situation. Even though we’ve chatted about the pests & bee hives she has faced, I never expected it to happen to me. It is my hope that Orkin knows what they have in this technician, and that a large pay increase is in order for the work she does each time she steps into or around a customer’s home. Joan H. via googleOur home was given an annual termite examination. We have a crawlspace sealed in reinforced barrier plastic because of heavy moisture. After the review some of the barrier had fallen, mouse droppings and mice caught in traps. We also have three dehumidifier machines in that area. However, they were Not Working and the inspectors could not determine when they stopped working and each must be replaced. Orkin originally installed them. The termite inspection became very costly not because of any infestation of termites but because of replacing dehumidifiers, shoring the barriers and labor. We are grateful the inspection occurred yet not so much because of additional expense.
